Learning Commons
The Learning Commons includes the library, guidance offices, dedicated study areas, and meeting rooms. The one-stop approach for all learning and technology services—from distraction-free learning spaces to university guidance counselling to teaching and learning resources—makes it even easier for students to thrive.
The print and digital resources of the Learning Commons are a vital part of the curriculum at LCS. The teachers and the librarian design lessons and projects involving the use of these information resources with the intellectual growth of the student in mind.
The objective of the Library and Information Studies program is the development of student competence in information skills. Students develop research and study skills as they prepare, access, process and transfer information. Students are helped to understand the many sides of an issue, to be creative in finding information and applying it to a problem, and above all, to take risks and experiment with ideas beyond the textbook.
The library resources are continually enriched to keep pace with the curriculum. A collection of over 10,000 print and video resources, a fully networked digital catalogue and circulation system, and state-of-the-art online resources with immediate access to hundreds of external databases, give our students the tools to develop sophisticated information retrieval skills that will serve them well in higher education and the information age.

Lakefield College School is a private, coeducational boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12, located in Lakefield, Ontario, Canada.
