10 km Run
The Ondaatje Medal Challenge began with the 10 km time trial on the Rotary Trail in Lakefield. High temperatures proved to be a challenge for all athletes competing. However, standout performances came from South African exchange student Tomon Nieuwstadt who ran the 10km course in the fastest time in recent memory (36:17), Niklas Filkhorn (41:38), Sophie Welch (48:46) and Caroline Dupuis (57:09)

650m SwimThe last Ondaatje Medal Challenge event took place in the cold waters of Lake Katchawanooka. Jake Fell and Calum Cook hit the final standard of the run, bike, paddle, swim and will be awarded the coveted Ondaatje Medal. Congratulations to everyone who contended in these rigorous events.

In order to receive the Ondaatje medal, one must compete and meet the qualifying time in all four of the Ondaatje Medal Challenge events – the 10 km run, the 15 km cycle, the 3 km solo paddle and the 650 m swim.
