A Trip to the Caves

By Geeta Narine ’17

On a bright Saturday morning we set out for Warsaw Caves. The bus ride was short and our conversations long. We arrived on location eager and excited to explore. After taking a short hike - we were released, free to roam and discover what we pleased. Traveling in groups of three or more, we voyaged through the dark caverns.

Some went on like endless labyrinths, with splashes of ice not yet touch by spring. Others were concise, but challenged with drops and ropes we weren’t prepared for. We greeted the end of the day with a surprising sadness; no one wanted to stay, but no one wanted to leave either. The bus was boarded, and we began the way back to The Grove, thoughts of our “expedition” still flowing through our minds.
