This past weekend, the Lakefield College School Dragon Boat team hit the water with force. A team consisting of teachers, dons, administrative staff and family came out to take on the fight against cancer in a friendly, or more appropriately, competitive set of races against various community and business teams.
The LCS team took an early lead and won their first race in the Education Challenge category. Their second race was a tight one against a very competitive set of community teams. They finished 3rd over all in the B-Cup finals and worked together to represent LCS and help raise awareness of breast cancer and it's lasting effects on those who are afflicted with it.

Racing aside, it was an amazing day filled with emotion, pride, enthusiasm and teamwork. Well done to all those who were involved with the team this year. Thank you to all the supporters that helped LCS raise a total of $2,780 for a new 3D-capable mammagraphy scanner for the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
