A Time of Thanks

By Rev. John Runza

“There were cats and rats and elephants as sure as you're born, but the loveliest of all was the unicorn!"  The Irish Rovers used to sing.   Well we didn't have unicorns, but we had cats and hamsters and dogs and kitties at our Thanksgiving Service with the Blessing of Animals.

After hearing a bit about St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, a message of service from Mr. Robertson, and the reading of the Prayer of St. Francis in Mandarin by our Senior-in-Charge of Chapel Greta Liu, Julianne Wagner led the procession of animals for their blessing.

A special thank you to Aramark food services for a wonderful Thanksgiving feast before the service.

We wish all of our LCS friends and families a blessed Thanksgiving Break.
