Giving Back to the Community

By John Runza

At the end of every school year, we invite students to donate their gently used school uniform and other clothing to the school. Last year, LCS students Abe '16 and Rebecca '17 Mello started their own not for profit charity, The Mobile Wardrobe.

They purchased a cargo van and requested donations of clothing from LCS and other local and independent schools and organizations. They gathered the donations and drove around needy urban, rural and First Nations communities and delivered clothing to those in need.

Once again this year, LCS will be supporting Abe and Rebecca's Mobile Wardrobe.  Boxes will be put in residences and the day student area for clothing donations.  Donated school uniform dress will be cleaned and sold by the Grove Society at the Replay Shop in August and September.  All non-uniform donations will be collected and donated to The Mobile Wardrobe.

We thank Abe and Rebecca for their hard work and it is our pleasure in supporting this wonderful effort to help those in need.
