Grade 11s Get Busy

By Tim Rollwagen

Grade 11s experienced their first Intersession Day of the year last week. As part of their Leadership, Character and Values program, they worked through a variety of activities aimed at developing a sense of community within the grade. Students were involved in team building exercises, event planning sessions and a fun “Apple Adventure” activity where students teamed up to build each other chocolate and candy covered apples.

The afternoon was spent outside in the rain where students gave back to their LCS community. Our feature event was the tear down of the rock wall that separates The Grove from Lefevre Field. Grade 11s worked together to remove stones and organize them in preparation for the walls rebuild in April next year.  Other on-site service focused on making our Outdoor Education spaces better for programming at LCS.

We celebrated our day with the apples built in the morning and some warm apple cider to stave off the cold, wet weather.  They should be proud of what they accomplished as a grade and I know that the teachers and staff at LCS appreciate their hard work and efforts last Thursday.
