Exploring Visual Arts

By Tayler Morencie

Grade 12 students explored figure drawing with live model drawing sessions. Students experimented using a variety of dry media such as graphite, conté, charcoal and pastel. As a class, we focused on capturing movement, energy and proportion.

Local artist Leanne Baird visited Grade 11 art classes to run workshops about acrylic painting, landscape composition, and the Group of Seven. Students designed their own landscapes and took inspiration from Canadian nature and Group of Seven painting practices.

Stay tuned for finished art pieces!
