Last Thursday, students in Photo Club were given the opportunity to learn about the art of food photography from Toronto photographer, Tyler Bowditch. Tyler walked students through the ins and outs of photographing food professionally, explaining to them how the image you see in a magazine, menu, or advertisement is made up of multiple angles, tricks, and often help from many people. Students had access to props, lighting, set components, and food and could curate, shoot, and edit their photographs. Students experimented with light and shadow by using bounce boards, curtains, and a variety of surfaces. Below are some action shots that were taken during the workshop. Stay tuned for the new display of the students' completed photos in the school block!
