In the Class

The typical weekday at Lakefield College School consists of academics, athletics, co-curricular, and community activities. The day begins for the whole school – Grade 9 through 12 students and staff – at Chapel. Morning announcements are shared, special calendar dates are celebrated, and, in addition, community members and special guests have the opportunity to present important information and experiences to the entire school. This is a valuable time of day for the school family to build values and spirit, and to broaden their understanding of global issues and advocacy.

After Chapel, everyone gets down to work with five periods of class (three on Wednesday and two on Saturday to accommodate the athletics and co-curricular schedule). During lunch, which is available to everyone in the dining hall, students have the chance to meet individually with teachers and advisors for extra help; they can also meet tutors and mentors in the Learning Commons after school and during study time in the evenings. After fifth period, arts rehearsals, co-curricular programs, and athletics activities also fill the time before dinner.
