A Message from Anne-Marie Kee, Head of School and Foundation

At The Grove we are surrounded by outstanding people. Our people care. They really, really care.

In a year like no other, our caring and passionate community has remained our strength. And despite the challenges the pandemic has presented, we are encouraged and uplifted by our students’ resilience in the face of it all.

More than ever, we are committed to growing and providing opportunities for outstanding students to attend Lakefield College School regardless of their family’s socio-economic background. We believe young people learn and mature best when they are encouraged to embrace their individuality within a richly diverse and supportive community and that our community is strengthened by this diversity of perspectives. To this end, we offer one in three of our students tuition assistance. An unprecedented amount amongst Canadian boarding schools.

We pride ourselves on having broad admissions criteria beyond just academic performance. We think enthusiasm and great attitude count. We strive for inclusivity and growing excellence by making Lakefield more financially accessible to promising young people who may otherwise be unable to attend.

It makes us who we are.
We are defined by our people, by their passion and by their commitment.

As our school year comes to an end, we’re so grateful for our caring community, one that continues to rally and redefine what it means to be “Lakefield” during a pandemic. And once again we are asking for your support.

A gift to the Care and Connect Fund, designated to tuition assistance, will help to ensure more deserving students can attend Lakefield College School despite their family’s financial circumstances brought on by the pandemic or otherwise, allowing for the preservation and growth of a rich diversity of perspectives in our community.

Thank you for all that you do to support our community and for your thoughtful consideration of this important initiative. We simply couldn’t do it without you.

Sincerely,

Anne-Marie Kee
Head of School and Foundation
The Care and Connect Fund aims to raise $1.5 Million to respond to the unique challenges placed on the school as a result of the pandemic while maintaining a view toward the future and continued strength and permanence. By investing in the fund, donors will ensure that our faculty and staff are given the tools needed to care for our students and community.

This will be accomplished through investments in three key areas:

“That is what’s special about Lakefield. It’s not the buildings, or the academics. It’s the ability that this place has to bring people together. We respect, support, and always look out for one another. Whether it is here on campus, or anywhere around the world.” - Santiago Paz ‘20, Co-Head Student
