On Tuesday, May 20, the third event in the 2026 Ondaatje Challenge saw 17 students take to Lake Katchewanooka for the annual paddle challenge, battling cool temperatures and wavy conditions on the water.
Despite wavy conditions, students pushed through the demanding course with determination and resilience, testing both endurance and technique on the water. With three of the four Ondaatje Challenge events now complete, competitors continue to work toward earning the prestigious Ondaatje Medal.
The final event in the Ondaatje Challenge series, 640m swim on June 3, will bring competitors together one last time as they look to complete the full challenge and earn their place among this year’s medal recipients.
