LCS Gets Back Outdoors

Earlier this month, Ms. Kee urged students to watch a movie together, listen to some music, and get outside for the chance to win a pizza party! This challenge is called the #LCSGetBack challenge, inspired by a recently released documentary about The Beatles entitled "Get Back".

As our students returned to in-person learning this week, our Co-Head Student, David ’22 urged his peers to reignite their passion for this challenge, “After two long weeks of remote classes, it’s time for LCS to get back! As mentioned in Chapel last week, the get back initiative is a way for us all to get back together as a community by getting outside, staying active and learning a little bit about one of the most iconic music groups ever, The Beatles. For the next two weeks, share pictures and/or videos of you getting back from home or on campus! The houses with the most participation will win a pizza party!”

Despite the heavy snowfall in Lakefield this week, our students have been getting outdoors with their friends to enjoy all our campus has to offer. From tobogganing to Nordic skiing, to trail walking, and playing disc golf, our students have been seizing every opportunity to enjoy quintessential Canadian winter fun!

David ’22 quoted John Lennon in an effort to further inspire his peers, “‘There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.’ Lakefield, let’s get back!”

We look forward to the week ahead as we resume our regular winter programming, providing even more chances for our community to get Outdoors Every Day.
