Gladiator Day Showdown | A Return to a Longtime LCS Tradition
This year’s Gladiator Day marked the continuation of a longtime LCS tradition that had been put on pause since 2020. The day began with a deafening cheer-off between our four Paper Houses—Mackenzie, Lefevre, Sheldrake and Pullen—and then the cheering continued throughout a series of chariot races in the McEwen Gym.
The students were energized from the communal excitement as they broke up into teams to tackle the outdoor events—inflatable challenges, sponge wars, slip ‘n slide dodge ball, and more! They finished the afternoon session with a tough tug-of-war competition on Matthews Field that left many with muddied feet and reddened palms.
Everyone then gathered down at the waterfront for the final (and most anticipated) event—Gladiator Jousting on Lake Katchewanooka. It was a fierce competition as junior girl and boy as well as senior girl and boy representatives from each house jousted against each other in elimination rounds.
Thanks to the School Life Class for another wonderful spirit event!
