International Service Projects

The LCS International Programs Office provides students with a wide range of meaningful, international service opportunities.

Each year during March Break, two or three LCS project teams (students and staff chaperones) travel abroad, roll up their sleeves, and engage with enthusiasm and hard work in a variety of service endeavours throughout the world. Over the last few years, LCS students and staff have contributed to projects in India, Kenya, Thailand, China, Ecuador and the Galapagos, Costa Rica and Peru. Many of these projects are offered in conjunction with established charities and tour operators, such as Habitat for Humanity, Operation Wallacea, Central American Service Expeditions, and Me to We with their affiliated charity, Free The Children.

In addition, LCS students regularly take part in Round Square International Service (RSIS) Projects, working cooperatively with students and staff from over 85 Round Square Schools throughout the world.

The RSIS December Projects provide the opportunity for students to travel to India, Cambodia, Kenya and Honduras, where they spend three weeks helping to build schools, dig wells, or lay pipe to help provide rural communities with fresh water.

Many LCS students also participate in the RSIS Summer Projects, which gives them the opportunity to perform similar volunteer service in Ladakh (India), Peru, and South Africa.
