Grade 9 Elements: Asking Questions and Deepening Understanding

By Ms. Erica Chellew

Mr. Rollwagen’s World Issues class presented their awareness projects to an audience of Grade 9 students on Thursday, November 7. As part of the Grade 9 Elements program, students are learning to ask questions that increase the depth of their understanding and allow them to see issues from multiple perspectives. The World Issues presentations allowed Grade 9’s to practice this skill in a relaxed and authentic environment. The Grade 12’s were able to spark seeds of interest amongst the Grade 9’s who returned to class with layers of questions and concerns about issues of inequality around the globe.
