LCS Students Help Bring Back the Salmon

For this year's Bio Bites sessions, Ben Teskey from the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters came to campus to give a presentation on Atlantic salmon. Grade 12 students participated in the Bring Back the Salmon program by taking a delivery of Atlantic salmon eggs which they reared in a chiller unit in the Biology lab.

This spring, Ben returned to the school to gather the Salmon fry in order to release them into Coburg Creek, a tributary that feeds into Lake Ontario and is located about 45 minutes south of LCS.
