A Virtual Welcome for Parents

On September 3 we had the pleasure of welcoming our parents to the new school year through a virtual meeting with the LCS Leadership Team, led by our Head of School and Foundation Anne-Marie Kee.

Our Vision, Mission and Values remain at the heart of The Grove and who we are as a community. While this year will look different, the Lakefield experience will remain unchanged for our students and families. We shared how students will still have a fulsome orientation week through community activities and how the start of the academic year will look with safety protocols and considerations. We are also excited to be offering a full range of athletics and arts co-curricular programs which will incorporate safety measures as well, keeping students active, engaged and healthy. Students starting the school year remotely will also enjoy connecting with peers in class and in co-curricular offerings tailored to meet their individual needs.

Our healthy, caring community will be kept safe through daily self-assessments by students and staff, hand hygiene, physical distancing, masks, increased cleaning and disinfection, creating residential cohorts, building improvements and upgrades for increase indoor air quality, managing traffic flow in hallways and using our beautiful 315-acre campus to offer outdoor learning and safe community activities. Important updates will continue to be communicated directly with our parents and posted online

We are thrilled to be welcoming our families to the 2020/21 school year and, together, we will make this an unforgettable year.

Missed the virtual meeting? Catch up online with our video recording.
