Northcote Adventures in Outdoor Education

By Mr. Geoff Bemrose

Last week, the Grade 10/11 OE classes packed their gear and paddled up to our beautiful Northcote campus to spend the night.

Due to detailed planning and several modifications, such and sleeping head to toe under tarps (instead of tents), masking, and increased hand hygiene protocols, our students had an incredible time connecting with the land and each other.

Highlights included cooking, storytelling, marshmallows by the campfire, planet-gazing (Mars & Jupiter were spectacular), and of course, playing lots of fun games (flashlight tag was a big hit!). Thanks to our incredible OE staff for making this happen safely for our students so they could have an authentic way to demonstrate their OE skills.
