Sarah Douglas ’12 Joins Team Canada in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Alumna Sarah Douglas ’12 was nominated to represent Team Canada at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games this summer. Sarah started sailing when she was seven years old and continued her passion throughout her teenage years at Lakefield College School. Sarah quickly became one of the top sailors in Canada. “Today she is ranked one of the best Laser Radial sailors in the world! Winning Gold at the 2019 Pan American Games in Peru has only pushed her forward towards her goal of competing at the Olympics in Tokyo.” (Sarah Douglas, 2021).
“I am very proud to be selected to the Olympic team and to represent Canada in Tokyo this summer,” said Sarah Douglas. “It is going to be different than I dreamed of but any chance to compete for my country on the Olympic stage is a huge honour for me.” (Sailing Canada, 2021).

LCS is thrilled for Sarah and wishes her all the best and a huge congratulations! We look forward to cheering Sarah on in July when she competes in Tokyo!
