Trevor Jones ’15 to Compete in Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games

Congratulations to alumnus Trevor Jones ’15 who, over the weekend, qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics at the 2021 World Rowing Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland! Trevor finished among the top in the Men’s Single Scull category, with a time of 7:01.48 (CBC, 2021).

Trevor worked hard to pursue his prosperous rowing career with the support of the Peterborough Rowing Club, during his time at Lakefield College School, and primarily through the support of Own the Podium and Rowing Canada. He also pursued his passion for the sport while in university. Trevor has been a member of Rowing Canada’s National Team since his time at LCS and is a two-time World Rowing U23 single sculls champion..

“The last five years of work has been leading to this moment,” he said. “Especially since I’ve moved out here [to Victoria, BC] three years ago. I’m just throwing everything at it.” (The Peterborough Examiner, 2021).

LCS is thrilled for Trevor and wishes him a huge congratulations! We are cheering him on from The Grove and can’t wait to watch him compete in Tokyo!
