LCS Dance Company Ranks Among the Top in Virtual Competition

On Saturday, June 12, the LCS dance company entered a virtual competition (Strive Dance Challenge) with video recordings of the dances they choreographed and performed this year.

Our dancers competed against 15 schools and dance studios across Ontario. The dances were judged by three industry professionals who scored and ranked each performance. All of the dance performances LCS entered into the competition scored at least a platinum mark, meaning the dance earned between a 92-94.99 out of 100.

Paradise (choreographed by Kate Bemrose '22) and Pop Smoke (choreographed by Catherine Kim '21 and Isabelle Kim '23) both scored an Ultimate Platinum (95 plus). Paradise also received a triple UP, which means that all three judges gave it a mark of 95 points or higher!

Our dancers competed against more than 160 routines that were entered into the competition. We’d like to acknowledge the following performances and the students who choreographed them:
  • Paradise (choreographed by Kate Bemrose '22) earned the 3rd highest small group of the entire competition;
  • Pop Smoke (choreographed by Catherine '21 and Isabelle Kim '23) earned the highest large group of the entire competition and the highest Hip Hop mark of the entire competition;
  • The Prom earned the highest Musical Theatre mark of the entire competition and a special award from a Judge "Oh What a Night".
We are beyond proud of our dancers' resiliency and accomplishments this year! Congratulations, LCS Dance Company!
