Exploring Outdoors in Grove Prep for Grade 9 | LCS Summer Academy

We were thrilled to welcome our second set of Grove Prep for Grade 9 campers this week! Last week, the first cohort of Grove Prep summer campers enjoyed five days of academic learning and fun activities, such as tennis, badminton, water sports, and more.

This week, our Grove Prep campers strengthened their English skills by reading and analyzing short stories and poetry, reviewing the Harkness discussion method, and exploring the principles of asking critical questions. During the science portion of the camp, they built lava lamps (one of their favourite activities this week!) to learn about substance density and polarity. They also explored their artistic side in a drama session that allowed them to practice creative expression using theatrical techniques.

When they weren’t honing their academic skills, our Grove Prep campers enjoyed the great outdoors. They participated in scavenger hunts, a canoe excursion, beach volleyball, soccer, and more! We truly enjoyed welcoming our Grove Prep summer campers these past two weeks and we can’t wait to welcome the next group in August!
