The Terry Fox Run

“I just wish people would realize that anything’s possible if you try; dreams are made possible if you try.” - Terry Fox

On Saturday, September 17, our students finished off their September Intersession experiences by running and walking in honour of Terry Fox. Each year, schools across Canada run and walk to continue Terry Fox's Legacy of Hope.

The annual event raises awareness and money for the Canadian Cancer Society, an organization dear to Terry as he was diagnosed with bone cancer at the age of 18. His message of strength and perseverance was channelled on Saturday as students completed as many laps as possible around campus over a set time period.

Students also had the opportunity to learn more about Terry Fox in a presentation delivered by Mr. Ross before the run commenced. Grade 11 student and Folk musician, Millie ’24 helped to motivate the school by performing an upbeat song she wrote about Terry Fox.

“The song I wrote for Terry Fox is called ‘If I Don’t Make It’. If we all do our small part to help the world become a better place, like Terry did, we can carry on his legacy.” - Millie ’24

A huge congratulations to everyone who participated and for remembering Terry's words of making the impossible possible.
