Movember Hits The Grove

By  Bro Derek Doucet

MOvember is alive and well at LCS! We have more than 75 team members on the LCS Mighty MOs team and that number continues to climb. We are changing the face of men's health one MOustache out of time. November focuses on men's mental health men's physical health such as prostate cancer and testicular cancer, and the Sears addition to the campaign is a MOve initiative trying to get men to leave a healthier and more active lifestyle!

MOvember is more than fundraising it's about starting conversations about men's health so that the MO Bros in our lives can live with us for as long as possible! So all you LCS MO Bros go for that annual physical, talk to your loved ones about how you're feeling, try to do something active more often, and MOst importantly grow your MO to help start these conversations with others!

If you would like to join the LCS Mighty MOs or if you care to donate to the cause please click the link. We want parents, alumni, friends of The Grove - MOvember is an all inclusive event!

MOvember puts the FUN in fundraising! Last week's event was “Tape a MO Bro/MO Sista to the Wall”! Students taped a MO Bro/Sista to the wall and the last one stuck once a roll of MO inspired Duct Tape for each of the team members! We also did a MOvember circuit with more than 20 students and staff to incorporate more activity into our lives!

Next week's activity
Rip a Strip - MO Bros donate their leg hair to the cause. Students can purchase wax strips and MO Bros will put it on their legs and Rip it off for everyone's viewing pleasure.

Group Workout - LCS is 1 of 20 High Schools in Canada to be awarded official MOvember Athletic Club Status. As such, we do one group workout at week. Next week's MOve will be posted in the MOvember student group.

On the horizon we have ...

1. Bake Sale
Anyone who care to donate baking for the sale is asked to contact MO Bro Derek Doucet, and students who bake will receive community service hours.

2. MO Song Mash Up
Choose your favourite song, get the Karaoke version and write your own MO inspired lyrics. Send songs to MO Bro Doucet!

3. FireTruck Pull
On campus - think StrongMan competition!

4. MOlar Bear Dip
Jump in the lake on MOnday, MOvember 30th at noon!

So as you can see, there are a lot of fun things happening and we have a dedicated MOvember Team who is making all of this happen! Special thanks to MO Bros Simpson, Wilson, Davis, Barr & Munoz as well as MO Sistas Kruzich, Krocker, Rousseau, Vogel & Wilcox for all of your efforts this MOvember!

So join us in changing the face of men's health and let's make this MOvember... one to remember!
