Preparing for Their First Performance

By Adam Bishop ’03

The Lorelei Consort is one of three vocal music ensembles at LCS - Rock Choir and Concert Choir being the others. Lorelei is distinct as it is an auditioned choir, where student musicians challenge themselves with ambitious repertoire and a more demanding performance schedule. The group performs regularly at school events, as well as within the local community – even singing the national anthem annually at Peterborough Petes’ hockey games! Lorelei members are looking forward to travelling to Toronto in April to participate in the Canadian Independent School Music Festival held at Roy Thompson Hall.

This year, Lorelei has 17 talented members who are actively preparing for a busy season. Our repertoire crosses genres from classical to pop, and is typically in four or five-part harmony. Upcoming performances include Trustees’ Day on October 21, the LCS Remembrance Day presentation on November 7 and the Winter Concerts on December 14 and 15 on campus.
