By Tayler Morencie

On Thursday, January 18, ten students including Claire Martin, Sophie Peters, Liam Davidson, Jieun Yu, Moy Romano, Paige Thompson, Ali Hyland, Dayah Raynor, Matt Amaral and Lizzy Hood, travelled to Trafalgar Castle School in Whitby, Ontario to participate in the second annual Conference of Independent Schools Visual Arts Festival.

This year’s theme was Gender: Defined and Redefined. Students explored this topic through a number of workshops including acrylic mural painting, studio lighting and portraiture, digital photography, personal journey drawing, and digital painting and photoshop. Students had the opportunity to learn new media from guest artists (including Joaquin Manay, Rebecca Wood, Chrissie Wytoski, David Wysotski, Kirsten McGoey and Anna Kreider) and created artworks. A great time was had by all!
