Winter Debating Competition

By Jen Browne
Instead of relaxing at home on the Quiet Weekend, the Debating and Public Speaking Team competed in the Winter Fulford Debate Competition this past Saturday at Bishop Strachan School in Toronto.

Our Senior Team representatives, Umai Zhusupbekova and Katherine Petrasek, courageously tackled three rounds of cross-examination debate.  Our Junior Team representatives, Ilana Mohamed and Cassie Mesburis, successfully stepped out of their comfort zone as they debated in three rounds of parliamentary debate.

These four students spent a lot of time preparing for this competition and this commitment paid off!  Well done, ladies!
