Katchewanooka Rod's 10th Running

By Vera Wilcox

What do you get when you combine a picture perfect snow-globe type of snow falling at night, mild winter temperatures, hot chocolate, music and about 150 students out on Matthews Field?

Lakefield College School's version of the Iditarod...called Katchewanooka-Rod or K- Rod for short!

It was the 10th running of K-Rod and it was awesome! One musher pulled by 6 students from each paper house participated in a slalom, long distance and sprint races.

Pullen won the slalom and sprint race while Lefevre won the long distance race. This magical evening was capped off by a fireworks display and the crowd singing Can't Stop Believing! A truly magical LCS moment!
