Harnessing Public Speaking Skills

By Jen Browne

Every year, the Debating and Public Speaking group sends a group of students to the Nora McRae Public Speaking Competition at Branksome Hall. It is a competition that requires students to compete in three public speaking categories, including impromptu speaking, radio newscast delivery and interpretive reading.

Each student must also choose between the after-dinner speech or the persuasive speech, both requiring the students to write and memorize a 5-8 minute speech.

Congratulations to Cassie Mesburis, Fallon Dennis, Max Brandes, Eric Zang and Phillip Zhang who stepped out of their comfort zone and for representing LCS so well!
