The Lakefield College School visual arts department is proud to announce that Grade 12 student and this year’s Peter Dalglish Art Award winner, Dasha Egudkina, has been awarded a $500 bursary from the Bierk Art Fund!
Dasha attended a portfolio review session held in front of a jury of local arts professionals on Sunday, April 29 at Artspace in Peterborough. The Bierk Art Fund was providing "four bursaries of $500 each to graduating high school students in the City or County of Peterborough whose work demonstrates great promise (artistic merit) and who have a serious commitment to pursuing further studies in the visual arts."
Dasha attended the Mayor’s Luncheon for the Peterborough Arts Awards on May 25, 2018, to receive her award. The luncheon featured fantastic local food, a number of performances by Peterborough artists, and an address by keynote speaker Wanda Nanibush, Assistant Curator of Canadian and Indigenous Art at the Art Gallery of Ontario.
We would like to extend our thanks to the Electric City Culture Council (EC3), the Bierk Art Fund (BAF), Artspace and the Art Gallery of Peterborough, along with Cyd Hosker, Micky Renders, Andrew Bigg and Alex Bierk for their initiative and for reaching out to our school community with this amazing opportunity!
