Red Door Awards

Each year, outstanding volunteers at Lakefield College School are recognized by their peers for going above and beyond. These individuals have demonstrated an outstanding commitment and enthusiasm and, through their efforts, have embraced the school culture and earned the respect of the LCS community. We celebrate these individuals with the Red Door Award. This year, we awarded three awards to outstanding volunteers.

Lara MacGregor (mother of Sebastien Smith ’18) was presented with a Red Door Award earlier this spring at the Volunteering Gathering event, hosted by Anne-Marie Kee.

Unable to attend the volunteer event, Adam Baker and Louise Maltman received their awards at the scene of their key volunteer roles.

Adam Baker, of Baker and Cole Lawyers, has supported the school for many years, going above and beyond in providing support for not only our LCS students but their parents and many of our LCS staff. In particular, Adam donates his time to provide legal support in many ways, including notarizing immigration documents for over 100 international students each year. In addition, he is a strong ambassador for the school continues to refer families. Adam was nominated by Barb Rutherford of the LCS Admissions Office who recently had the honour of presenting him with his Red Door Award with his staff.

Louise Maltman (mother of Cameron ’16, Andrew ’17 and Aiden ’21) has served many roles since she joined us in 2012, including volunteering at Grove Society events, acting as a Grade Rep, Chair of Communications and as the Lead for the Replay Shop – a role that she has been in for the past three years. Her efforts to reorganize, streamline and promote the Replay Shop have been tremendously successful. With a friendly and fun demeanour, Louise recruits and maintains a dedicated team of volunteers who work with her throughout the school year and summer. Louise was presented her award recently with her volunteer group cheering her on.

The staff and students of Lakefield College School are so grateful to all of our volunteers for their incredible support!
