Harkness Expert Pieter Kooistra Joins Faculty on Campus

LCS hosted Pieter Kooistra from The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey, this Friday, who presented to the entire faculty on the topic of teaching using the Harkness Method. We are pleased to announce that next year all of our students will be participating in Harkness Discussions as a regular part of their English classes. We believe the Harkness Method provides tremendous value and an experiential learning opportunity that engages students in the key core skills that we want all of our graduates to develop while at LCS.

Pieter joined us for a presentation and facilitated a day-long workshop with our faculty. In addition, we will send two of our English teachers to an intense Harkness training session this summer at Phillips Exeter Academy, a school known worldwide for its use of the Harkness Method in teaching.
