This year, the Guidance Office, along with the Grove Society Alumni Chapter, are welcoming members of our community to connect with our students about their career paths, education and the day-to-day aspects they encounter in their chosen fields.
Our first set of talks began this fall on September 28, when we welcomed back Melissa Zubrickas ’08, Gillian Dunn ’04 and Emma Trottier ’03 over the lunch hour to speak with our students about their career paths. Gillian spoke about her path to the post-production field of film and animation, Emma spoke about her experience as a parliamentary procedure manager, and Melissa spoke about her time as a Registered Nurse at a local hospital. We so appreciated their willingness to share their stories with our students and their openness in answering the students' questions.
A week later, on October 4, we invite interested students to connected virtually with alumna Lindsey Hepburn '02 who spoke about her time abroad working for non-profit organizations which eventually led her back to Toronto where she recently started her own career coaching company called Careerscape Vocational Counselling and Education. Our senior students had many questions for Lindsey and her guidance, wisdom, and willingness to connect most definitely made a difference to their' journey this year.
Thank you Melissa, Gillian, Emma and Lindsey for sharing your time and wisdom with our students!
