Reconnecting and Having Fun

Memorial House

By Ali Hyland ’19
Memorial House reconnected after the break by visiting the PC Cooking School in Peterborough and taking part in a cooking lesson. The lesson began with the girls gathering the grocery items needed for the dinner. Then we were able to help prepare the foods by working together, and finally, as a nice reward, we ate the great food that we had made.  It was a great time for all the girls to work together in a setting we aren't usually in.

Uplands House

By Chloé Cloutier ’19
After a long break away from each other the Uplands girls gathered together to play Capture The Flag and Phobias throughout the school block. This house event was focussed on getting the girls back into the groove of residential living and help them reconnect within the house. After an hour of running around and sneaking down the stairs, the “blue team” defeated the “red team” and took the win just as easily as they had found the flag. They then continued to participate in the grade-led game, Phobias, where teams in twos (one Grade ten and one Grade eleven) they searched the school block to find hiding and frightened grads. As a reward, they gathered back in the Uplands Common Room and enjoyed a variety of snacks, including pizza, chips, and fruit and vegetables. All in all, it was a great night for the girls.
