Seb Jones '13 Memorial Poetry Slam

LCS students were invited to express their creativity and share their voice through spoken word poems at the first annual Seb Jones '13 Memorial Poetry Slam, on Saturday, February 22, 2020. Prizes were awarded for the best Junior and Senior performances as well as the best in the Free Slam competition. Winning poems will be published in the Lakefield Literary and Arts Journal 2020

Seb Jones '13

Seb Jones, Class of 2013, was a sporty outdoorsman, keen canoeist, an artist, and a friend to all who knew him. Sebastian was influential in ensuring everyone felt valued and included. Sadly in June of 2019, Sebastian died by suicide. As a tribute to Seb’s spirit, his family and friends will sponsor an annual poetry slam competition to take place each year on Seb’s birthday, February 22. In doing so, they hope to add some joy and lightness during the long dark days of winter.
