Spirit Sculptures

After choosing a stick from campus last fall and letting them dry out throughout the winter, Grade 12 art students have just completed their Spirit Sculptures, transforming them into sculptures with themes from Identity and Memory to the Environment.

This week during class, students participated in the Charging of the Spirit Sticks activity and used their sculptures in the tradition of the Talking Stick by passing them around a circle and sharing their feedback with each other.

Look for the display of the Spirit Sculptures, and many other fantastic art pieces, during Regatta Day (May 23) in Lower Hadden Hall.
