LCS French Classes Attend French Film Festival in Peterborough

Recently, our Grade 9-12 French classes embarked on an exciting cinematic experience as they attended a French Film Festival at Galaxy Cinemas in Peterborough. The highlight of the day was the screening of "Tu te souviendras de moi," a film adapted from the play by the Québecois playwright François Archambault. This field trip offered our students a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the French language in an authentic way.

The film, known for its thought-provoking narrative, captivated our students' attention, offering them a window into the rich linguistic and cultural nuances of the French-speaking world. "Tu te souviendras de moi" not only showcased the brilliance of Québecois playwright François Archambault but also provided a platform for our students to engage with the language in a real-world context.

Upon returning to school, each French class reflected on the experience, delving deeper into the themes presented in the film. Students were given the choice to express their thoughts either through written assignments or oral tasks. This exercise allowed them to both flex their linguistic muscles and engage in thoughtful exploration of the underlying messages of the films.

It's through immersive experiences like this one that we continue to foster an appreciation for the French language and its diverse expressions within our student community. Kudos to our French classes for embracing this experience!
