Exciting News: TEDx is Coming to Lakefield College School!

Lakefield College School is excited to announce TEDx Lakefield College School 2026, taking place on Wednesday, December 2nd, in the Bryan Jones Theatre. TEDx is a globally recognized program of local, self-organized events designed to bring communities together to share a TED-like experience. Grounded in TED’s core mission of "ideas worth spreading," this local stage provides LCS students in Grades 9–12 and faculty with an incredible platform to share their original ideas, personal stories, and unique perspectives with both our school community and the world.
This year’s theme, "The Road Not Taken," is inspired by Robert Frost’s iconic poem. It explores the choices we make, the unconventional directions we pursue, and the unexpected opportunities that shape who we become. We encourage interdisciplinary ideas from all areas of interest—from STEM, history, and the creative arts to humanities and meaningful lessons learned through everyday life.
We are officially opening a call for speakers and inviting interested students and faculty to step outside their comfort zones to share a cause or message that matters to them. Proposed talks should ideally run between 3 and 12 minutes, with a strict maximum limit under 18 minutes, and must remain non-commercial, non-political, and non-promotional. Proposals can be submitted via the application form linked on Edsby, and selected speakers will be asked to complete a standard TEDx Speaker Release Form.
Whether you plan to step onto the stage or join us in the audience, mark your calendars for December 2nd. Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes content, speaker interviews, and exciting updates as we prepare for this year’s event. Have an idea worth sharing? Take the road less traveled and make your voice heard!
