Belonging Builds Confidence, Leadership, and Lifelong Friendship

Each of our 12 Houses is a community within a community, where day and boarding students learn from one another as mentors, leaders, and friends.

Whether planning Spirit events, organizing House events, supporting a peer, or sharing stories around a House BBQ, students discover what it means to be part of something bigger than themselves.

It’s amazing what you can achieve when you’re happy.

Life at Lakefield is full of moments that make you feel at home. Happiness isn't something that happens after success—it helps make success possible. You'll find it in our intentionally small House communities, where day and boarding students share everyday experiences that build confidence, foster independence, and create friendships that last well beyond graduation.

Small Communities, Big Connections

Our Houses are intentionally small—among the smallest of Canadian boarding schools—each bringing together an average of 25 boarding and 12 day students, along with dedicated residential staff and advisors who know them well.

Within these close-knit communities, students find a home base for both learning and support. Whether they live on campus or commute each day, every student has a place to belong, people who look out for them, and traditions that make the House feel like family.

A Global Community

Housemates learn from one another’s cultures, perspectives, and experiences—creating lifelong connections that reach far beyond campus.

Each of our 12 Houses is led by a Head of House, and their family in some cases, alongside Associate Faculty and Advisors who live and work alongside our students, sharing stories, offering guidance, and helping them navigate daily life at LCS.

We have this community that’s really special and no matter what your passions are, everyone is going to be there for you.

Everybody has their own place, it’s like a puzzle piece, and with Ryder, the puzzle is complete with everyone together.
