LCS Athletics Update: Fall Season Gets Underway

The fall athletics season is officially underway at Lakefield College School, with teams competing across the region and plenty of strong performances to start the year.
On the soccer pitch, the 1st Boys Soccer team opened its season with a 2–0 win over TCS, avenging last season’s playoff semi-final loss. The 2nd Boys Soccer team followed with a convincing 6–0 victory over Albert College. The 1st Girls Field Hockey team also continued its strong start, defeating St. John’s-Kilmarnock School 2–0, while the Girls Basketball team earned a 30–23 road win over Hillfield Strathallan College.

LCS also hosted its Cross Country Invitational at Harris Track, where athletes put in strong performances. Congratulations to Matt ’27, who placed third in a competitive Senior Boys division, and thank you to the volunteers who helped make the event a success.

Beyond the team sports, three LCS equestrian athletes, Dyvah ’29, Elizabeth ’28 and Sophie ’27, are heading to the Silver Level Provincial Championships this weekend.

On Sunday, Jorja ’27 and Charlotte ’29 will compete in the Senior Women’s Double at the Head of the Trent Regatta, racing a 5 km course along the Trent-Severn Waterway. Eight LCS athletes will also take on the OFSAA Tennis Qualifier in Toronto.

With more games and competitions ahead, our fall athletes are off to a strong start. Congratulations to all our teams and athletes, and thank you to the coaches, volunteers and supporters who help make LCS Athletics possible.
