Movember at LCS: Coming Together for Men's Health

Movember is underway at Lakefield College School, and students, faculty and staff are finding fun ways to come together in support of men's health.

The school kicked off its annual Movember activities with a friendly hockey game on Saturday, October 31. Thirteen students and 13 faculty and staff members took to the ice, splitting into the Cream and Green teams for some friendly competition. The Cream Team came away with a 7–6 win in a closely contested game, while spectators cheered on both teams from the sidelines. A special thank you goes to student scorekeepers Avalyn Janssen and Capri Tavares for helping keep the game running smoothly.

The celebrations continued on Monday, November 2, with LCS's second annual Movember Shave-A-Thon. Students made a $5 donation for the chance to shave a strip off the face of a favourite faculty or staff member, creating plenty of laughs while supporting an important cause.

Together, the two events have raised approximately $735 so far in support of men's health. Beyond the friendly competition and fun, Movember offers an opportunity to raise awareness, encourage conversations and support the importance of men's physical and mental well-being.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, cheered from the sidelines or contributed to the campaign. There's still time to show your support by visiting the LCS Mighty Mo's Movember page and making a donation.
