As we look ahead to our 150th anniversary in 2029, we’re building purposeful momentum through the early phase of Together for Lakefield—our community’s shared initiative to build a strong and inspiring future for The Grove.
Together for Lakefield is a comprehensive fundraising campaign encompassing all gifts received between 2018 and 2029. The donor impact stories highlighted in this report illustrate the meaningful progress already underway and the momentum carrying this campaign forward. As we prepare for the public phase—set to launch in September 2026—you will be hearing much more about this important initiative.
Thanks to the generous support of our community, Together for Lakefield is enabling essential investments in our students, staff, and campus. These initiatives reflect our shared commitment to nurturing belonging, fostering authentic learning, and ensuring that every student can thrive.
Community First
- Hepburn Hall: Construction is well underway on Hepburn Hall, our future dining and community hall, designed to be the heart of campus life. This school year, we are inviting sponsorships for dining tables, flags, and chairs as we prepare for its grand opening in September 2026.
- Tuition Assistance: Nearly 30% of our students attend Lakefield with the support of tuition assistance, a reflection of our deep commitment to access and inclusion. We continue to grow these resources so even more students can experience The Grove.
- House Program: We are enhancing our houses with thoughtful renovations that create brighter common spaces, updated kitchens, and welcoming spaces for day students—strengthening the traditions, friendships, and sense of belonging that define life at The Grove.
- Student Centre: Our beloved Winder Smith Hall will be reimagined as a new Student Centre, where it will serve as a vibrant hub for student leadership and learning, and featuring new classroom spaces.

Authentic Learning
- Bouchard Family Thriving for Life Centre: With its grand opening on May 23, 2026, the Bouchard Family Thriving for Life Centre will bring 16,000-square-feet of new space for learning, innovation, fitness, and dance, expanding opportunities for students to discover their passions and build lifelong habits of well-being.
- House Endowments: We are building dedicated endowed funds for each of our 12 houses. These funds will enable our Heads of House to provide activities, programs, and equipment that will help students develop the personal and life skills needed to prepare them for life beyond Lakefield, while fostering the connection and belonging that define The Grove.
- Innovative Programming: We are investing in new learning approaches and emerging technologies—including the thoughtful use of artificial intelligence—to help students personalize their learning, explore their interests, and strengthen critical thinking skills.
- Faculty and Staff Development: We are expanding opportunities for professional learning support for our faculty in designing immersive, student-centred experiences that prepare learners for an ever-changing world.

Outdoors Every Day
- Northcote Campus and Farm: Significant investments at Northcote in infrastructure and year-round programming that deepen students’ connection to the land and to one another through meaningful, hands-on learning.
- Environmental and Outdoor Education Endowments: We are also establishing endowed funds to strengthen our Environmental and Outdoor Education curriculum, supporting the experiences that make Lakefield truly unique.
