Hepburn Alumni Challenge

Together, with John ‘68 and Jane Hepburn, we launched the Hepburn Alumni Challenge in September 2014
When John ‘68 and Jane Hepburn inspired the launch of the Hepburn Alumni Challenge, roughly one in ten alumni had been supporting the school on an annual basis. The Hepburns, believing strongly in the positive impact that could be achieved through the encouragement of others, challenged LCS alumni to give back to the school with an inspiring $3 million gift incentive offer—$3,000 per alumnus/a participant over the five-year program.

The success of the Hepburn Alumni Challenge was made possible thanks to the support of over 75 volunteer Class and Decade Captains, who tirelessly engaged their classmates and guided us through the implementation of this program. We are remarkably grateful for the support our community has demonstrated. We also must acknowledge the inspiring leadership of John '68 and Jane Hepburn. Their vision, passion, and incredible support have enhanced our school and alumni community immeasurably.
To be honest, without your help, a kid like me would not be able to do all of this. This has been a life-changing experience for me and I’m so thankful for your financial support. Once again, thanks for making all of this possible. I am very grateful for all that you have done and continue to do.
-- Hepburn Alumni Challenge Bursary Recipient
Today, the Hepburn Alumni Challenge Bursary stands at $3.5M and has supported a total of 18 deserving students from alumni families to date—a testament to the collective power of our compassionate alumni community and proof that every alum can make a difference in the lives of students today and in the future.
We’re currently challenging ourselves to dream about how the program can evolve and continue to address financial accessibility at LCS. Stay tuned!
