  • Investing in Our People

    Our vision for Lakefield includes a commitment to our students and staff.

    Our vision includes a continued commitment to expanding accessibility to a Lakefield education through greater tuition assistance (learn more):

    • We are thrilled by the growing socio-economic diversity of our students, whose presence and perspectives in our classrooms and houses benefit the entire school community.
    • Through the annual generosity of alumni and families, we can award up to $2.9M in total donor-supported tuition assistance, supporting 30 percent of students who otherwise would not have the opportunity to attend Lakefield.
    • We are proud to support 7 fully-funded Katchewanooka Scholarship recipients, 4 Indigenous Leadership Bursary recipients, and many alumni children, through the Hepburn Alumni Bursary.
    Our vision also includes investing in our faculty and staff through professional development opportunities designed to help them to develop and hone the skills and programs they need to deliver the very best learning opportunities for our students.

  • Investing in Our Program

    Our vision for Lakefield includes a commitment to providing students with fulfilling experiences that develop life skills beyond academics (mind, body and spirit).

    Our vision focusses on providing these unique and transformative experiences by investing in essential programs, including our:

    • THRIVE Health and Wellbeing program;
    • Outdoor, experiential, farm, and sustainability programs;
    • Cocurricular and House programs;
    • Community, cultural, learning, and spirit days (e.g. Lunar New Year, Holiday Decorating, Gladiator Day, and Career Day); and more!
  • Investing in our Place

    Our vision for Lakefield includes investments in new and improved facilities that are fundamental to meeting the needs of our students and teachers, and essential to bringing our Community First and Outdoors Every Day vision to life. Enhancements to our facilities identified to meet the needs of our community include:
    • A new community and dining hall—which, for the first time in 30 years, will be large enough for all of our students and staff to sit down together to eat and celebrate;
    • A new extension—with space for more classrooms including for leadership, innovation, and design, upgraded community, and new fitness and dance spaces;
    • Comprehensive house renovations—with larger common spaces and full kitchens in each house intended to fit full house groups, including day and boarding students, advisors, and residential staff and strengthen community-building; and
    • a new signature building at Northcote, to facilitate unique experiences for our entire community outdoors, at the farm, and on the land.
