Our Day Camp programs offer a supportive, play-based outdoor experience for campers ages 4-16 to build confidence, creativity, and new friendships across our 315-acre waterfront campus and farm on Lake Katchewanooka.
Campers spend their days enjoying a diverse range of activities like swimming, canoeing, bouldering, farm visits, trail exploration, arts and crafts, sports, and team challenges. From discovering lake and farm life to arts and crafts, our youngest campers ages 4-10 learn through curiosity, creativity, and play—all on our beautiful, nature-rich campus.
Mini Explorers Born 2022-2023 (Ages 4–5)
This program has been designed for our youngest campers to encourage exploration through play and outdoor adventures, all at a gentle pace and with lots of care. Our 4-5 year olds are placed in a unique small-group setting, providing a comfortable environment to engage in exciting activities and interact with new friends.
Our 4-5 year olds are outdoors every day, enjoying all our campus has to offer. From fun in the sun at our waterfront, challenging themselves on our indoor bouldering wall, visiting the animals and trying foods at the farm, getting creative through arts and crafts, playing group games, and more!
Prerequisite: Campers must be born in 2022 or 2023 and turn 4 before the first day of the camp session.

Little Explorer Born 2020-21 (Ages 6–7)
Our 6-7 program emphasizes a mix of hands-on experiences designed for campers to build confidence through diverse activities, self-exploration, and magical moments. Campers get outside every day, enjoying swimming and canoeing on Lake Katchewanooka, discovering farm life at Northcote, engaging in team games, building their creativity through crafting, and immersing themselves in the beauty of nature during outdoor education initiatives.
Our 6-7 year old campers can extend the fun with our Thursday Evening Program, enjoying themed activities, a waterfront campfire, and provided dinner and s’mores. Thursday Evening Program is a perfect beginner step for our 6-7 year olds to experience a traditional summer night at LCS Camps.

Junior Explorers Born 2017-2019 (Ages 8–10)
Our 8-10 year old program opens the door for campers to gain more ownership of their camp experience. With daily outdoor time, campers experience Lake Katchewanooka through swimming, canoeing, and paddleboarding, and learn from the land at our Northcote Farm campus. Our intentional program design encourages 8-10 year olds to build lifelong skills through team sports on the field, outdoor education initiatives in the forest, and risk-taking challenges on the rock wall. With the introduction of a “Campers Choice”, 8-10 year olds are offered a daily flexible activity period, allowing our oldest JDC group to really lean into their developing hobbies and passions!
Our 8-10 year olds have the opportunity to extend the camp fun with our Thursday Campfire Evening Program or Thursday Sleepover add-on options. After an evening of themed activities and campfire fun, 8-10-year-olds can sign up to stay overnight in one of our on-site dorms and experience an exciting night of sleepaway camp, getting a taste of overnight camper life at LCS Camps!

Adventurer Day Camps (Ages 11-16)

Grove Adventurers Born 2016 (Age 11)
Our Grove Adventurers program strongly emphasizes the importance of agency and self-exploration for campers to build a summer experience that is true to them. Campers participate in a diverse range of traditional camp activities, experiencing all the campus has to offer. Our 11-year-old campers have a role in building their dream week at camp by personalizing their afternoons with fun-filled Campers Choice options. The program is truly the perfect blend for campers looking to try a bit of everything whilst acknowledging campers may also have more specific interests they want to explore a bit further!
Specially offered to our Grove Adventurers can register for a one-night camping adventure to learn basic camping skills and participate in a memorable sleepaway experience at our Northcote Farm Campus. Not interested in camping just yet? There is still an opportunity to extend the camp fun by opting into our Thursday evening program for a night of themed activities, campfire fun, dinner, and s'mores overlooking Lake Katchewanooka.

LCS Outdoor Adventurers Born 2013-2015 (Ages 12-14)
New this year: Outdoor Adventurers recognizes that no two campers are identical, so their schedules shouldn't be either! Our flexible registration model gives campers the freedom to design their ultimate summer by selecting two core morning specialized programs that match their unique interests, followed by interactive Campers' Choice programming each afternoon. Each specialized morning program is intentionally designed for a meaningful, week-long progression, allowing campers to build hands-on skills, confidence, and true domain expertise from Monday through Friday. By choosing their two core morning specializations and selecting their afternoon activities each day, campers gain total agency over their camp experience, shaping a personalized summer adventure that reflects campers' unique passions and goals.

Customize your camper’s schedule by selecting two (2) specialized morning programs from our 10 featured options, one for AM 1 and one for AM 2, delivering a daily progression that turns curiosity into real skill and proficiency by Friday!
Select Your AM 1 Program: Choose your first specialized program that your camper will attend each morning (9:00-10:15).
Select Your AM 2 Program: Pick a second specialized program for their second daily morning session (10:30-12:30).
Enjoy Flexible Afternoons: No need to pre-select afternoon slots; campers pick their preferred Camper's Choice games and activities on-site each morning at drop-off.

Outdoor Leadership Camps (Ages 15-16)
Transform 15- and 16-year-olds into confident future camp leaders through hands-on outdoor adventure, community engagement, and real-world youth mentorship.
Outdoor Leadership Born 2011-2012 (Ages 15-16)
Designed for 15- and 16 -year-olds, this immersive program builds advanced outdoor and leadership skills through direct hands-on experiences and mentorship opportunities. Campers will explore the natural environment by participating in ORCKA Level 1 Certification, wilderness camping, canoeing, and team challenges. Outdoor Leaders will spend their mornings diving into experiential workshops, community engagement experiences, and volunteer service learning at LCS and in the broader Lakefield Community.
Afternoons will be spent in group placements where Outdoor Leaders will support in mentoring younger campers and planning group games in both indoor and outdoor settings. Outdoor Leaders will receive feedback and guidance from our attentive and supportive staff. This program has been designed for a gradual progression of confidence in leadership roles. With this, 15- and 16-year-old campers' placement settings and expectations will vary slightly. 15-year-old Outdoor Leaders' placement will focus more on experiencing different age groups among Junior Day Camp and facilitating activities in smaller group settings. 16-year-old Outdoor Leaders will be paired with a program coordinator and facilitate a specialized activity program in an area of interest (sports, arts, science) in a larger group setting and for older age demographics.
Outdoor Leaders will work to help facilitate and plan a memorable Thursday campfire experience and themed activity stations for our younger Junior Day Campers to help spread camp magic and joy in the LCS Camps community.
Time in both group placements and community workshops will help these young leaders develop the experience and practical skills that prepare them for future counsellor-in-training and leadership roles at camp.

Our Day Outdoor Leadership program is $1,210* for two weeks of fun and unique LCS experiences! Registration fee includes a daily hot lunch, a morning fruit snack, a camper T-shirt souvenir, Thursday Evening Program, and a Saturday excursion to Ganaraska Tree Top Trekking. For our Day Outdoor Leaders, registration includes our Thursday Evening Program and Wednesday Northcote Camping Trip, as these add-ons are integrated as part of the leadership program schedule.

PA Day Camps (Ages 4-10)
LCS PA Day Camps are all about turning a day off school into an awesome outdoor adventure packed with pure seasonal fun. Taking full advantage of our 315-acre campus, campers spend their day playing dynamic group games, exploring woodland trails, taking on ropes challenges, and enjoying active hands-on activities tailored to the time of year. It’s the ultimate way for kids to recharge, run around in the fresh air, try new activities, and hang out with friends on their day off.
Dates:
October 26th, 2026 | Fall Frenzy Crisp autumn air and vibrant fall colors set the stage for an action-packed day outdoors. Campers will jump into the autumn woods for leaf-crunching trail games, fall-themed outdoor challenges, and hands-on Halloween arts and crafts as the campus transforms for the season.
February 1st, 2027 | Winter Blitz Winter is in full swing, turning the campus into a snowy playground. Kids will bundle up for snow tracking, building snow forts, and playing active winter games before heading inside to warm up with hot cocoa, indoor bouldering, and gym action!
April 16, 2027 | Spring Quest The start of spring allows campers to step into the trails to see greenery shooting up and wildlife returning. We'll explore the awakening forest, make spring crafts, and enjoy outdoor games as the weather warms.
June 4, 2027 | Kickoff to Summer With summer right around the corner, this day is all about soaking up the warm sunshine and high energy. Campers will kick off the warm-weather fun with active waterfront activities, wide-open field games, and outdoor team challenges across the campus.

Our PA Day Camp Sessions are $90* for a day of fun, seasonal, and unique LCS experiences! Registration includes a hot lunch and a morning fruit snack.

March Break Camp (Ages 4-10)
LCS March Break Camp offers an adventure-filled week during the spring school break, encouraging campers to engage in outdoor discovery and seasonal activities. The program balances outdoor education with creative hands-on projects, giving campers the opportunity to explore campus trails, climb on indoor walls or low-ropes courses, take part in cooperative sports, and engage in nature-based crafts and experiments. It is designed to foster confidence, build new friendships, and provide a fun, well-rounded camp experience during the transition from winter to spring.

March 15-19, 2027 | The Great March Escape With spring just around the corner, this week is all about embracing the fresh air and vibrant outdoor energy at all of our favourite camp spaces. Campers will dive into hands-on nature discovery on the trails, active games on “Falco Field”, and engage in farm preparation with our Northcote friends Goldie and Roots!
