As Director of University Guidance, Tom Milburn works with students in choosing courses they need for their high school and future university academic careers; he supports students, with their advisors, in achieving academic success; and he helps Grade 12 students complete their post-secondary school applications and develop gap year plans.
Tom loves the personal connection he makes with students as he helps them figure out what their interests are and how to pursue them through continued academics and career choices. Communication is the key, for Tom, in all education relationships.
As a teacher, advisor, guidance counsellor, and part of the boarding community, Kirsten Johnston brings a vast range of experience and understanding to students seeking course planning, vocational testing, and university guidance. In her role as Associate Director of Guidance and Learning, Kirsten garners great satisfaction working with students across their four years of high school, getting to know them and their aspirations in order to help them prepare for university and career success.
Brendan Fell ’04 is responsible for student records, sending marks to post-secondary institutions, and organizing university liaison events. Previously, Brendan was in a dual role at LCS which included both risk management and guidance administration, and before that he provided administrative support during the development of the school's Strategic Plan. He brings knowledge of several areas of the school to his current position, including the experience of being a Lakefield College School student for six years!
