Career Day

Career Day is an annual tradition at The Grove providing students with an opportunity to make a connection between their academic interests and future professional endeavors. In addition to this learning opportunity, Career Day gives students, alumni, parents and friends the occasion to develop meaningful connections for the future.

2025
  • Baron Marcus signed by the epic and historic Cleopatra Records to record a VBB version of David Bowie's esoteric masterpiece 'Blackstar' for an upcoming (and yet to be announced) project.
  • Video game series Angel Devil Machine is scheduled for the first public release in mid 2025.
2024
  • Video game series project Angel Devil Machine is featured at Toronto’s FanExpo. The beta of the first public release is play tested by the public for the first time.
  • Video game series project Angel Devil Machine is presented to the international gaming industry for the first time at the Montreal International Game Summit.
2022
  • M7 Database celebrates 30 years in business, with a few clients spanning of 20 years of continuous business, plus other current clients historically connected to staff and companies of original clients.
  • Marcus presents his work on a Peacekeeper Tactical Simulation training software to the principal officers at the United Nations in NYC. The work is well received and leads to project negotiations.

  • Baron Marcus is written-in as a lead character (as himself) in Paul Mason’s adventure novel “The Rogue Wave”. ISBN-978-1989689219
2017
  • The first prototypes of using M7 Database ‘agile’ development methodologies as applied to video game development result in the founding of the ‘Angel Devil Machine’ video game series project.

  • VBB Single released “Freak Parade”.

  • Numerous soundtrack compositions for independent films and indie documentaries.
2006
  • VBB featured in Metal Hammer Magazine UK. Selected as on of the “Top 26 Bands To Watch” internationally.
  • Vampire Beach Babes release “Summer of 2006 advance EP”.
  • US tour through Chicago, Ohio, Pennsylvania, to New York City and New Jersey.
  • Feature performance at Northbound Leather’s annual gala ‘Decadence’ at the Docks in Toronto Canada (3500 spectators).
  • Vampire Beach Babes featured opener for The Damned at the annual UK Gothic Weekend in North Yorkshire (4500 spectators). Feature U.K. dates, Blackpool and Plymouth.
2005
  • Baron Marcus is the subject of a York University documentary “Interface” investigating Marcus’ unique performance and technical career.
  • Baron Marcus and the Vampire Beach Babes are signed to Divine Industries, distributed and supported by Red via Sony Music.
  • Album “Beach Blanket Bedlam” released on SONY Music / Divine internationally. Artwork again by Canadian artist Ed Valdes.
  • Feature interview in television series “Shadow Hunter” Vampire Episode.

  • Baron Marcus is featured in “The Goth Bible: A Compendium for the Darkly Inclined” (St. Martin’s Press) ISBN-978-0312306960
2003
  • Baron Marcus was written into a cameo appearance (as himself) by celebrated vampire author Nancy Kilpatrick’s in White Wolf’s ‘Vampire the Masquerade’ novel “As One Dead”. ISBN-1-56504-875-X, making him a bona-fide character of the ‘Vampire the Masquerade’ universe.
  • Baron Marcus is written-in as a lead character (as himself) in Michael Rowe’s acclaimed Vampire Anthology ‘Brothers of the Night’. ISBN-N-1-57344-025-6

2002
  • Featured in MuchMusic/TheNewMusic segment about Gothic culture alongside Nine Inch Nails, Alice Cooper and Poppy Z Brite - which was then chosen as part of ‘The New Music’s Best of 2002’ (syndicated worldwide).
  • Album “Attack of the Killer Bikinis” released - and peaks #4 on international campus radio charts.
  • Canadian Music Network magazine selects “Reckless Summer” chosen as Indie album of the month in November.
2001
  • Wrote theme song for Troma Entertainment (New York City’s world-infamous b-movie makers) comedy feature film “Tales from the Crapper”.
  • Released single with remixes, “Tomb Mau Mau” EP.
2000
  • Vampire Beach Babes released first album “Reckless Summer”.
  • Featured on celebrated international compilation ‘Gothic Sanctuary’ alongside Bauhaus, Ministry, Skinny Puppy, Sisters of Mercy, and the Cult.
1997
  • XL Insurance, and FACTOR become long-term clients of M7.
  • The Vampire Beach Babes is formed playing shows in Eastern Canada. Features and interviews on CHRY and other Canadian campus radio stations.
1995
  • M7 Database Services expands from the music industry base to include Ontario’s Ministry of the Attorney General, Healthcare and Tech and Manufacturing industries.
1992
  • Marcus founds M7 Database Services. First client is BMG Records and its associated labels: Arista Records, RCA Records, Jive Records, Elektra Records, Verve Music Group, and DGC Records.
1991
  • Administrative assistant at True North Records.
1990
  • Marcus works as administrative assistant at Enigma Records, working with press packages and support for bands such as The Cramps, Dead Milkmen, Mojo Nixon, Devo, David Cassidy, Laibach, Motörhead.
1989
  • Baron Marcus is signed to Quantum Records in Toronto’s Kensington Market.
  • A song from those sessions broke-out into the top 10 on commercial radio charts in Eastern and Central Canada.
1988
  • Baron Marcus is lead singer of Goth/Punk band The Thrashinads, performing and recording in Peterborough Canada, and is featured on CFFF FM and featured at Trent University’s Bacchus Festival.
