Grad Leadership Conference Launches the 2025/26 School Year
We were thrilled to begin the 2025/26 school year with one of our most meaningful traditions—the Grad Leadership Conference. Over two days, our Grade 12 students immersed themselves in experiences designed to prepare them for their roles as leaders and mentors within the Lakefield College School community.
Through a series of workshops and team activities, our Grads explored what it means to lead with empathy, collaboration, trust, and inclusivity. These moments offered space for reflection, conversation, and connection as they prepared to set the tone for the year ahead.
The conference also introduced the Senior Student Leadership Model (Seniors in Charge, or SICs), which empowers every Grad to step into a leadership role. With this model, each student has the opportunity to contribute to shaping life at LCS—whether by welcoming younger peers, sparking school spirit, or building a stronger sense of community.
The event culminated with a formal dinner and candlelight chapel service, a reminder of both the privilege and responsibility that come with being a senior leader.
As we look forward to the months ahead, we are excited to see how our Grade 12 students will carry these lessons into their daily lives, inspiring their peers and leaving their mark on our school community.
