The second event of the 2026 Ondaatje Challenge took place Monday evening as 25 students competed in the 15km bike time trial along River Road, riding from the Village to Lock 22 and back.
The course tested endurance, pacing, and mental toughness, with students competing across road, mountain, and hybrid bike categories. Riders faced changing winds and rolling terrain as they pushed to complete the course as quickly as possible in pursuit of the Ondaatje Medal.
The time standards for the Ondaatje Medal require students to complete each event within 10 percent of the average winning time from the last 10 years.
